One of the hardest things to do

I don´t have time

I don´t have time

Very often I hear people say that they don´t have time to take a break for 10 minutes or even 5 minutes. My answer in that case is that you then have to prepare for a very, very long break. Maybe a break for a couple of years or more cause that´s how long it takes to recover from being burnout. But most people live as if they never have to refill any fuel at all. Mental stress or brain stress is the most common stress today and it´s also the most dangerous because it´s active most of our waken time. In this post I will give you 5 stress-relieving tips and I will also give you a bonus tips which is one of the hardest thing to do. But first I will give you a list of some of the effects from brain stress just to show you how it will effect you at work:

  • Less focus
  • Difficulty concentrating
  • Trouble learning new information
  • Forgetfulness
  • Disorganization
  • Confusion
  • Difficulty in making decisions
  • Feeling overloaded or overwhelmed
  • Memory problems
  • Inability to concentrate
  • Poor judgment
  • Seeing only the negative
  • Reduced work efficiency or productivity
Just relax a b

Just relax a bit

5 stress-relieving Tips

  1. Excersise:
Physical activity is one of the best ways to release stress. It releases endorphin’s that improve your mood and help you become more relaxed. You also release muscle tensions during exercise which gives a more relaxed body.
  2. Take a deep breath:
Taking a few deep breaths down in the belly will help you release tensions. In addition, the brain receives more oxygenated blood which makes you feel more alert and focused.
  3. Take small breaks:
Short breaks during the day can be a great help for stress. So take five minutes and read a magazine, take a short walk, breathe deep breaths or look out through the window and dream for a while.
  4. When driving:
When driving a car, you can do some small things for stress relief; breathe deep breaths deep into your stomach, daydream about the beautiful places and fun things you want to do, think about fun things. When driving, you have an excellent opportunity to set goals and think about how it will be when you have achieved your goals.
  5. Massage:
Massage and physical touch has a great relaxing effect.

I promised you a bonus tips at the end and here it comes. If I was to give only one tips for stress relief this is the advice I would give, it´s very easy but it´s also one of the hardest thing to do. Are you ready? Here it comes:

My best tip:

* Doing nothing at all.

What does it really mean? To do nothing at all don´t only mean sit down and do nothing, it also means no thinking. And what does that mean? No thinking? Sounds impossible, right? Well, it simply means no planning, no goal setting, no problem solving, no thinking of dinner just sit or lie and try to be as empty as possible so you can absorb the present with all your senses. Look at things that are beautiful, listen to sounds that makes you happy, smell the aroma of a flower or perfume, feel the taste of your favorite chocolate, feel how your muscles relax after every deep breath you take etc. And if you fall asleep that´s fine. After a nap you will feel more energetic and relaxed and that´s just positive. So, it´s time to be busy doing nothing at all, right?

And as usual I hope you could understand my English witch maybe is a bit Swenglish sometimes.
